Our strong connection and commitment to the community is what sets us apart from other companies, as it brings us together to make a difference. As a Five-Star Investor with the American Cancer Society (ACS) we have contributed more than $1.5 million to the fight against cancer over the past decade.

Tell-A-Friend

For two weeks in April, TNG talent call hundreds of friends and family in a company-wide initiative called Tell-A-Friend, a telephone program designed to help increase breast cancer screening awareness among women over the age of 40. In 2009, TNG talent reached more than 3,200 women, and have reached more than 14,000 women since 2004.

Salons for the Cure

During the months of May and June, Salons for the Cure unites the professional beauty industry in the fight to cure breast cancer. In 2009, TNG created an exclusive wildflower seed packet as a symbol of the hope and beauty that spreads when people raise awareness and support the cause against cancer. TNG donated $1 to ACS on behalf of clients for every order placed during the months of May and June, and a seed packet was enclosed with each order. Additional seed packets were available for salons in exchange for a $1 donation to ACS.

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk

Each October, hundreds of talent, family and friends of TNG gather at the ACS Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk on Belle Isle Park in Detroit, the hometown event for our corporate headquarters. As a National Corporate Team Sponsor, TNG raised more than $90,000 at 7 individual Strides events nationwide in 2009 to benefit the American Cancer Society.

DREAMS featuring the Tiffany Awards

An energizing and innovative approach to fashion, hairstyle and entertainment, DREAMS featuring the Tiffany Michigan Hairdresser of the Year Awards brings hundreds of people together to support a worthy charity. The only event of its kind in the U.S., Tiffany celebrates the talents of hairdressers and their contribution to the community. All proceeds from the event benefit The American Cancer Society. American Red Cross Blood Drives

Each year TNG Rebels roll up their sleeves and donate precious blood to help save lives. Every minute of every day someone requires blood given through volunteer donation. Only 3 out of every 100 people in the U.S. are blood donors, which makes each donation all the more important. Anyone can donate at the TNG sponsored drives. Together we have collected more than 500 pints since initiating this effort.

Forgotten Harvest

In December, TNG rebels rally to collect food for Forgotten Harvest hunger relief program. In 2009 more than 10 pallets of food were donated to emergency food providers.
